Health Disparities in Hawai'i (Hola y Aloha)

The state of Hawai'i faces significant health disparities among its population, including chronic diseases (diabetes, obesity, heart disease), cancer, and mental health. These health disparities often affect the most vulnerable population. In this discussion, Dr. Ruben Juarez, the HMSA Professor in Health Economics at UHERO, explores the role of economics and social networks in addressing health disparities in Hawai'i and discusses several ongoing projects that have the power to improve health equity in the state, and how Hawaii's population can participate in them.
